The Constitution

The Constitution

At inception, the original rules and Constitution needed further clarification in many areas. Moreover, the League began to have many issues with the scoring system that was in place. In 1993, there was hardly any information or sources that could be consulted IF things happened that were not covered by the rules that goverened the small number of fantasy leagues at that time. Remember, there was no Internet and no email (outside of the beginning of it on campus only). After having another argument, we decided to put a lot of effort into OUR CONSTITUTION. Matt Rush and Jeff Summers were diligent in making sure that we followed a set of guidleines that held us all responsible for our actions. Being friends, we weren’t ones to cheat the system, but we were very vehement because no matter what, money was involved and when that is involved, there should be a clear set of guidelines that we follow. In doing so, Our Constitution has literally expanded from a one-page document to what it is today. We tackle the questions on players and teams and points before that ever becomes a problem. Tie-breakers are the most important to figure out as many of these leagues will wind up with the same amount of teams with a similar final regular season record. Thus, making sure the one that should be in the playoffs is of utmost importance. Our Constitution is something we follow religiously. Not many will ever read this article, but note that each section in here happened because of something that happened in fantasy football.
